Computer Recycling

Good Morning Texas

About a month ago we were included in a blip about computer recycling that showed 1800GotJunk bringing their items to us for recycling.  We enjoyed a bit of coverage on Good Morning Texas.  See for yourself!

America Recycles Day

November 15 is America Recycles Day.  We love this website because it takes you through the steps of organizing your own event and even provides with the advertising swag to make your planning a success.  All it takes is knocking on the door of your neighbors or walking over to the business next to you to get a recycling network started.  If you have always wanted to make a bigger difference, I would start here!  Once you have your items collected, just call to schedule an appointment with us and we'll come and pick-up your items!

Arlington Ecofest 2011

So this past Saturday we were fortunate enough to be a part of a green, family-friendly event hosted by the City of Arlington promoting green-friendly businesses and community contributors called Arlington Ecofest.  It was really great to see so many vendors who offered amazing green products for the home like solar panels and tanks to reduce water usage for various appliances.  Additionally, we really enjoyed the vendors who offered opportunities to get involved in programs and organizations for children through adult.  We spent our day accepting computers and electronics on-site for recycling and meeting a great deal of caring and great people.  Thank you to Arlington for a great event and we look forward to next year!

Computer Recycling

We started our business because we realized so many individuals and companies were/are hoarding computers in closets and forgotten offices.  Sadly, after awhile of "not thinking" about them these electronics end up in the trash.  The truth is the components inside your computers and monitors have various levels of hazardous chemicals in them and if not broken down properly and thrown into a landfill causes toxins to leak into the soil.  While computer recycling is not a perfect system in the U.S., entities like the EPA are striving to keep up with our rapidly growing technological society.  It amazes me that a new computer is outdated after a year and obsolete after 2 years.  It also amazes me that the average cell phone does what the first computer did that took up an entire office building.  I don't where were our society is headed, but I know for us, it feels to good to help other people keep our community informed and headed in the right direction.  If you know someone we can help, we appreciate referrals.  And if you have used us, we appreciate your awareness and business.
